For a clean judiciary: the importance of in-house mechanisms (Newspaper Editorials Vocab 24×7 Set 45)
Hey, readers! I am Anjali Sharma and I warmly welcome you all to our page. I hereby represent the editorial section of “The Hindu” newspaper dated February 1st, 2018. The Editorial discusses the action that is taken by the in-house committee to eliminate Justice Shukla, it showed the significance of the in-house system of working.
It was convicted by an in-house committee that Justice Shukla who is presently the Judge of Allahabad High Court has dysfunction the judicial blunder and this all is ample enough to justify his removal. Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra noticed Justice Shri Narayan Shukla in last year before Supreme Court. It was found that Justice Shukla has taken advantage of the judicial propriety. The Chief Justice of India, Dipak Misra decided to constitute a three-member committee, which included Chief Justices Indira Banerjee of the Madras High Court and S.K. Agnihotri of the Sikkim High Court and Justice P.K. Jaiswal of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, to investigate his behavior. During the investigation, the committee realized that the judge had transformed his “Ideology of Judiciary”. In return for this action taken by the committee, Justice Shukla is not providing his resignation or retirement, certain alternatives are granted to him to neglect all the disgrace done to allegations in Parliament. All the accusations, in this case, had created a rage within the judicial body of the country. There is a probability of getting a suggestion that is passed in Parliament which is acute in nature, and the claim that the most trusted body of the country is Judiciary of country powers are being exploited by its keeper will not be tolerated anymore. The eviction of an already serving judge is undoubtedly an unexpected decision. That internal processes with due regard for institutional authenticity is the pillar of a successful functional body. In addition to this, I am sharing vocabulary from the editorial section which will prove to be a helpful source for our aspirants.
